The European Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, has expressed his satisfaction with the support received from several member states regarding the granting of aid for the private storage of pork meat.

The Commissioner tweeted that he appreciates “the support of Member States in our action to deploy market support measure – aid for private storage for the pork meat sector who is facing great difficulties. More to come next week with our Communication on food security.”
The Commission has published the draft regulation granting aid for private storage for pigmeat and fixing the amount of aid in advance.
This point also appears in the Commission’s unofficial document, published last March 13, and in the Parliament’s Motion for a Resolution dated March 16 on the need for an urgent EU action plan on measures to address the market situation and food security considerations following the invasion of Ukraine.
